AJ’s professional focus is centered around developing athletes through the application of foundational strength and conditioning principles, scientific literature, and extensive experience in high level sports performance. He holds a special interest in game speed development, including acceleration, max velocity, change of direction, and curvilinear abilities. AJ is passionate about continuing to advance his knowledge and understanding on speed development, training design, sport science implementation, and overall athletic performance enhancement. AJ previously served as the Lead Sports Performance Coach of Tork Sports Performance from 2018-2024, where he played a vital role in the implementation and development of all training systems for youth through professional sports.
AJ leads many of the training systems at CORTX for the MLB, NFL, and NFL draft prep athletes, with a special emphasis on game speed development. His training designs are aimed at increasing the speed, power, and velocity for NFL Combine, NFL, MLB, MiLB and NCAA athletes. He individualizes each athlete’s training program through a reverse engineering of their sport demands, combining the needs of the athlete with the limitations derived from their force-velocity profile and orthopedic screening to best address deficits in movement literacy, mobility, stability, strength, power, and speed. AJ is fortunate to coach athletes across the performance spectrum. He is a performance coach for athletes competing in the NCAA, MiLB, MLB, and NFL; as well as High School and Youth athletes. His speed systems are integrated into a comprehensive training design which focuses on optimizing training outcomes. AJ plays a critical role in the administration of individualized scientific training programs, focused on data tracking, VBT, autoregulation, and intrasession adjustments to optimize adaptations. His expertise in the sports sciences and gregarious personality allow him to deliver a comprehensive and unique sports performance experience to the athletes he trains.
