Chris Gau

Baseball Development Coach

A Jacksonville native, Christopher Gau spent a decade competing at every level of professional baseball. At Jacksonville University, the two-way standout batted .400 as a sophomore while posting a 3.56 ERA and issuing just 51 walks over 222.2 innings.

Selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 14th round of the 2018 MLB Draft after a 112-inning junior campaign, Gau climbed one of baseball’s deepest farm systems to Triple-A with both the Durham Bulls and Indianapolis Indians. His résumé features a career 1.16 WHIP, a 3.19 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and better than 10 strikeouts per nine innings in high-leverage roles.

Gau now channels his on-field expertise—paired with the latest pitching and hitting science—to coach and prepare the next generation of baseball players through CORTX’s evidence-based, performance-driven development system.
